Icom IC-7600 Press Release
A press release was posted today on the Icom website for the upcoming IC-7600. This rig is the apparent successor to the IC-756 Pro series.
Unfortunately for me, the press release is in Japanese. However, Google’s English translation of the IC-7600 press release does provide some insight as to what the specs will be on this hot HF transceiver.
IC-7600 Details
Here are a few things that we’ve learned today about the IC-7600 that were previously unknown – to me anyway.
Expected released: Late 2009
Price including tax: 417,900 Yen
IMD: Improved over the IC-756 Pro III
Display: Dedicated Spectrum Scope; 5.8 inches wide
Roofing Filters?: 3 (bandwidth 3kHz, 6kHz, 15kHz) with the 1st IF filter
Icom is obviously initially targeting the Japanese market where the IC-7600 has already been announced (Aug 2008). I’m expecting a U.S. debut of this transceiver at Dayton corresponding to FCC approval.
