There are several tough choices to make along the way in putting together a full-scale amateur radio tower project:

Antennas

bands
performance expectations (gain, F/B, etc.)
type (quads, yagis, log periods, etc.)

Tower decisions:

type (guyed or self supporting)
height (mast height and type)
location

Other things that don’t seem as important at first glance, but are actually relatively critical

coax
rotator (aka Rotor)
building permits
XYL permissions
