This category contains information related to improving audio in ham radio operation. Audio filtering has been around for many years using passive and active components. In recent years, ham radio operators have begun to take advantage of DSP technology.
What is DSP? Digital Signal Processing is used to digitally modify an analog signal for some specific application. For example, an analog audio (or video) signal may be converted to a digital signal and then compressed, filtered, or otherwise enhanced using a special computer or chip.
Although the technology is relatively new, Ham Radio experimentation with DSPs has taken place since the beginning. |
