QSL Cards and Services

What are QSL cards? QSL cards are written postcards often exchanged between ham radio operators to confirm a contact (QSO). A QSL card typically contains information about the ham radio contact such as frequency, date, time, callsigns, mode, etc. Many hams exchange QSL cards as a means of verifying contacts towards an award program such as the ARRL DXCC or WAS. Electronic QSLs are becoming an increasingly popular means of confirming a QSO - especially among those who must process large numbers of QSLs, such as DXers and contesters. The ARRL Logbook of the World (LOTW) can provide electronic confirmation of contacts specifically for awards.
